Steve Ackroyd’s Big Fat Raffle

Dan O'Brien

My dear friend, Steve Ackroyd, who was at HBS from 1987-1994, was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer in 2022. Miraculously, his cutting-edge treatment has been working and has not only prevented further growth but reduced its size considerably and now Steve is able to walk again, unaided. However, his treatment in Germany is eye-wateringly expensive and could not have been achieved without crowdfunding. So far, this amazing feature of social media has given so much more time to Steve and his family and now they have come up with a brilliant idea for funding the next round of treatment: a raffle!

After graduating, Steve became a very established film and TV editor who has edited many popular shows and, as you will see from the famous people contributing to the promotion of this raffle, it is no ordinary one! The prizes are incredible and there are still a few tickets left. Whether or not you remember Steve, his story is inspirational, heart-warming and a testament to the fruitfulness of a determined, creative and logical approach even in the face of the most horrific and devastating adversity. His family has even just been interviewed by the Telegraph. You can be part of this story and buy some raffle tickets - and even be in for a big win!

However, please note that there is now only ONE WEEK TO GO!
