Dan O'Brien
About
Having qualified as a teacher in the UK and worked in a number of schools internationally, I am experienced in teaching Mathematics, Science and ICT - mainly at secondary level but including all school phases. Alongside my education research commitments since returning to academia in the UK in 2020 (which include authoring articles and presenting research at academic conferences), I now work as a senior educational project consultant, both in the aid and development sectors and school improvement. Since 2017, I have worked with NGO clients, conducting field and desk research, writing proposals, evaluating humanitarian projects and compiling strategic plans in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. My project work has also included STEM curriculum planning and development, advisory inspections, teacher training and large-scale education courses or workshops for a variety of clients. I am an experienced presenter/orator and have represented Oxford and Cambridge as a debater.
